Day 12: Nails Inc Graffiti Manicure

Hiya,

Having such a large collection of nail polishes, I often find that I don't have enough fingers to try them all out, so I asked some of my friends to help me out, and let them loose on my collection, to see what collaborations they came out with. I'm happy to say they all have great taste and they all finished the night with gorgeous manicures.

One of my friends noticed the new Nails Inc Graffiti polishes that I had just received and decided she wanted to give it a go. Although with several coats the graffiti polishes can be opaque I suggested layering it on top of a another colour to add contrast, which she did, as well as choosing a completely different polish by Model's Own for a ring finger accent!

It all sounds very clashing but it worked really well and here's the finished look:

Nails Inc. polishes are well known in the UK as a London based company who are proud of their roots, so by creating these unusual, electric glitter polishes in the Graffiti collection they are clearly embracing their roots. "Brick Lane" is the monochrome polish of the collection containing black and pearl white micro, hexagon and strip glitter. It has a clear base with is relatively thick but not unmanageable, however the glitter doesn't come out very dense and does have to be placed more than painted onto the nail.

"Brick Lane" contains many different colours and shapes of glitter

"The Southbank" is a pale grey creme polish which sets off "Brick Lane" perfectly. It applies opaque in 2 coats without streak marks, and is a great polish for the autumn/winter.

As an accent nail my friend fell in love with Model's Own glitter polish "Disco Mix" which she layered of Collection 2000's "Vivid Violets" which set off the mix of blue and purple glitter perfectly.

Model's Own "Disco Mix" and Collection 2000 "Vivid Violet"
The glitter in "Disco mix" is a very fine micro glitter in pinky/purple and a royal blue and is very dense when painted on the nail. It paints very flat and smooth over the nail and with a top coat is as smooth as a creme. It would go opaque in 2-3 coats but we used just one coat over "Vivid Violets" so you could still see the colour through it.

What do you think of this contrasting manicure? Right up your street or to much going on?

Love Jude x
